Well, unlike most 8 week mamas, I was doing back flips. But literally. Cam and I drove down to Las Vegas on Friday, so I could be too a late dance practice Friday night and then perform all day Saturday at a NCHC clogging competition. It was a short, exhausting, but fun trip and thankfully my body held out! I was sooo nervous to be doing a back handspring while being pregnant because 1. I didn’t know if it was even smart to do while pregnant and 2. I do it while girls next to me pop up into a handstand and there’s been a kick a time or two (and I may or may not have fallen right on my back at a competition before ha) But, I called my Dr. and he said this far along I’d be good to go! That calmed my nerves a bit, but I was still a little nervous (okay, maybe a lot!). The day started out adventurous–getting wayyy lost getting to the venue, but finally made it in time and our teams did pretty good–those Southern teams know how to clog (they took everything just about)! I love clogging and having a supportive husband willing to sit through a 10-hour day watching dance after dance. He’s even getting the hang of it too! We finally skipped out for some yummy Olive Garden dinner and in no time were back to our hotel sound asleep with my clothes, makeup, and lights still on which is NOT part of my usual “bedtime routine” (obviously, I was exhausted). We woke up in time for our complimentary breakfast (Cam is convinced that continental breakfasts are the best things in the world!) and headed off to Church. The whole ride home my acidic belly was acting up. It’s the weirdest thing–eating, I’m perfectly fine but about 2 minutes later I’m miserable (oh the taste in my mouth and acid in my belly–yuck!). We had a pit stop in Cedar City to say hi to my cousins and another at my parents for a late dinner!
But for the BUMPDATE, our little babe is the size of a green olive! 🙂
