On September 10, 2013 I witnessed a miracle, truly a miracle.
I am incredibly grateful that Jake and Amy allowed me to document the birth of their beautiful (and perfect in every way) baby boy, Krew. Being there to document those first tender moments as Jake and Amy welcomed their first child into the world was humbling to say the least. And, I felt extra special to document their precious experience as they experienced the labor of childbirth. And… I am even more grateful I decided to live at King Henry my Sophomore year at Brigham Young University, and have roommates “randomly” selected. There was no random about them, though. I look up to those “111 girls” and consider them some of my closest friends. Growing up, I always wanted to be a NICU or OBGYN nurse. I loved babies then and still do! But when I grew up, however, I decided nursing was not my cup of tea. So, I chose the next best option, Family Life. This was my first experience witnessing childbirth (yes, I was shaking with the adrenaline rush!) and it was incredible.
So, I decided when I grow up again I want to be a birth story photographer (so… if you or anyone you know is having a babe…). It was THAT neat.
